Gajamukha
Material: Acrylic on Canvas
Size: 18 × 24 inches
Gajamukha, the elephant-faced one, is the Tantrik form of Ganesha, worshipped at the threshold of all sacred rites as the lord of Muladhara, the root chakra. In the Tantrik tradition, he is not merely the remover of obstacles but the very embodiment of Vighneshvara, the sovereign of all impediments, who both creates and dissolves barriers according to divine will. His elephant head symbolises the union of the gross and the subtle: the vast cosmic mind (Mahat) housed within earthly form. Worshipped with red hibiscus, modaka, and the recitation of the Ganapatya Atharvasirsha, Gajamukha guards the entrance to the Tantrik path, granting passage only to those who approach with sincerity and surrender.
