Urdvareta Maheshwara
Material: Museum Quality Archival Print
Urdvareta Maheshwara is Shiva in his supreme ascetic form, the lord whose creative energy has been fully sublimated and turned upward through the Sushumna toward the crown of infinite awareness. The term Urdhvareta designates one who has achieved the alchemical transformation of Ojas, the vital essence, into Tejas, the radiant fire of spiritual illumination. Maheshwara in this aspect is the great Tapasvin, seated in Himalayan stillness, his gaze turned inward upon the luminous void that is his own nature. To meditate upon Urdvareta Maheshwara is to be drawn into that same upward current, feeling the Kundalini rise through the Sahasrara, dissolving every knot of contraction until only the vast silence of Shiva remains.
